7.3.1 Introduction

An advance publication of the first Gaia full-sky map of Cepheids, RR Lyrae stars, SX Phoenicis/δ Scuti stars and long period variables is provided by automated classification of all objects with at least two FoV transits in the G band. The results of this classification can be found in the Gaia DR2 archive in the classification table associated with the nTransits:2+ classifier, although subsequent filtering of sources by CU3 and CU9 increased the minimum number of FoV transits to five (after taking into account also the CU7 observation filtering of the pre-processing step described in Section 7.2.3).
